I’m Michelle Osborn, founder of Homeschooling Teens Successfully. I am a wife and mother of 4 adult children and 8 grandchildren.   

I homeschooled all four of my children from birth through high school graduation. Add it all up and I homeschooled for a total of 22 years.

My Homeschool Journey

“When my oldest finished 8th grade, I faced the big question—can I really homeschool high school? Doubts crept in as I stared at the overwhelming task ahead: planning 9th grade, choosing curriculum, and figuring out graduation requirements. I remember staring at my computer screen, wondering where to start looking and feeling completely lost.

“What if I’m not qualified to prepare her for college, or I miss something crucial?”

The weight of her future felt heavy on my shoulders. But I was determined to figure it out—I had to research every requirement, compare every curriculum option, and create a plan that would set her up for success, even if I had no idea what I was doing.”

My Approach

Having homeschooled from the start, I already knew that the eclectic homeschool approach was what fit our family best. This approach gave me the freedom to tweak the curriculum to fit each child’s unique learning style and interests.

Fast forward to my youngest’s graduation. All four graduated successfully—three earned multiple college acceptances and scholarships, while one thrived in trade school. Homeschooling didn’t just prepare them academically; it shaped them into confident, capable adults.

I remember the late-night worries, the search for resources, and wondering if I was doing it right. 

How I help moms like yours

After years of homeschooling my teens, I found more and more moms coming to me asking, “How did you do it?” They were feeling overwhelmed, unsure where to start, and just wanted to make sure they were doing it right. 

That’s when I realized—I needed to take what I’ve learned (the wins, the mistakes, and everything in between) and turn it into something that could help others.

So I started creating practical resources, offering one-on-one coaching, and speaking at homeschool events to encourage and equip moms like you. 

I’ve also created a membership just for homeschool moms of teens—a supportive space where you can find encouragement, tools, and the confidence to guide your teen through graduation.
